The roughly 8,000 acre Grapevine Lake is home to some of the most enjoyable outdoor activities in Grapevine.
It is wonderful for fishing, recreational boating, camping, hiking and much more. The beautiful parks and trails are all well maintained.

Grapevine Lake – A Great Place To Spend The Day

Lake Grapevine is surrounded by beautiful parks that you can visit for free or for a small fee.
Rockledge Park
Located on the east end of Lake Grapevine and north of the dam and is home to the starting point of North Shore Trail. This park offers beautiful views from bluffs overlooking the lake. There is also a nice pavilion located inside the park. Cost is $5 per vehicle.

Oak Grove Park
This 40-acre park and ball field complex is the largest park on the lake. Within the park are several boat ramps and Scott’s Landing Marina. The marina is home to Big Daddy’s Ship Store where you will find some of the best Hamburgers in Grapevine.

Meadowmere Park
Meadowmere Park has a great day area including a playground, beach area, and covered picnic tables. Camping is also available. Cost is $5.

Katie’s Woods Park
This heavily treed park is on the southeast portion of Lake Grapevine. It has the lake’s best boat ramp and has a great day use park area full of covered picnic tables.

This is a small, heavily treed secluded park with a few picnic tables.

Lake View Park
Located on the south side of Lake Grapevine is Lake View Park, one of the lake’s least trafficked parks. It has restrooms, picnic tables, playgrounds, and a beach area with great views of the main lake. Free.

Trophy Club Park
Located on the very western tip of Lake Grapevine is Trophy Club Park. It has picnic tables, restroom facilities, and off-road dirt bike trails. Fee is $3 per vehicle.

Murrell Park
Located on the northern shores of Lake Grapevine and is home to campgrounds, great fishing, Twin Coves Marina and Little Pete’s Restaurant.

Grapevine Lake also features several campgrounds. On the south side is Meadowmere Park and the Vineyard’s Campgrounds. On the north, you can camp at Twin Coves Park.
Vineyard’s Campgrounds
The award-winning Vineyard’s Campgrounds offers cabin camping, RV sites, and tent camping. This full service facility also has its own boat ramp, fishing pier, and nature trail.
Meadowmere Park Camping
The wide open Meadowmere Park Camping offers a variety of tent camping options with great views of Lake Grapevine. Most sites come with a covered picnic area and a fire pit.
Murrell Park Camping
Murrell Park is a well-run campground and park on the northern shore ridge overlooking Lake Grapevine. Minimum stays are required. It has a restaurant and store. There are roughly 22 non-electric tent sites.

Grapevine Hiking/Jogging Trails

On the lake’s north side is the 9.5 mile North Shore Trail. It starts at Rockledge Park, north of the dam. It runs from Rockledge Park up to Twin Coves Park on the lake’s north / west end. The trail often offers up wonderful views of Lake Grapevine.

Meadowmere Park Trail
On the South / West side of Lake Grapevine, is the soft surface trail on Meadowmere Park. This one-mile trail is great for walking, running, or biking.

C Shane Wilbanks Trail
The C. Shane Wilbanks Trail runs 3.4 miles along the south side of Lake Grapevine. This paved trail traverses Horseshoe Trails Park and Oak Grove Park. This trail connects with the Oak Grove Trail which continues for another 1.3 miles. The C Shane Wilbanks Trail crosses Dove Loop Road at the one-time Beer Bait Gro store which is now home to the Grapevine Runners and Walkers (RAW).
Oak Grove Trail
The lake’s largest park is the 1.3 mile paved Oak Grove Trail. The trail connects the C. Shane Wilbanks and Dove Loop Trails and includes views of the lake.

Dove Loop Trail
This paved trail takes you out of Oak Grove Park, away from the lake for 1.8 miles.
Gaylord Texan Trail
On the lake’s south / east side, adjacent to the Gaylord Texan, you will find the Gaylord Texan Trail. This 1.3 mile long trail takes you from the Gaylord Texan Mall to downtown Grapevine.

Vineyard’s Campground Nature Trail
Vineyard’s is a short hiking trail is located within the Vineyard’s Campground on the lake’s south side. This unpaved trail is perfect for hikers wanting to avoid bikers or other fast moving traffic.
Note: Vineyard’s Campground trail is available only to campground guests. Vineyard’s is not a day use park.
Other Trails
There are plenty of other unnamed trails to explore along the lake shores.

WaterWay Adventure Boat Rentals rents jet skis, pontoon boats, and ski boats. They also have Decker Party Barges with water-slides for groups of 10 to 100 people; the party yacht, The Tejas Charter Boat, handles groups of 15 to 100 people. Both rentals come with driver and crew.

The Vineyards Campgrounds and Cabins have12 cabins for rent. Each unit comes with linens, Wi-Fi, Central heat & air units, cable TV and most have a full kitchen with dishes. Most guests have use of a comfortable porch with gliders, fire ring, grill and picnic table.
These cabins are right on the lake, allowing for great bank fishing.
Nearby is a beach available only to campground residents.
The Vineyards Campgrounds have recently added additional parking, a huge new restroom / wash room facility, upgraded the boat ramp and courtesy docks, and added a camp store.
